Steel Haul

With 60 years of trucking experience, the Richards Transport team has built up a reputation to effectively and efficiently carry out any job, big or small.

One particularly big job involved the transport of 18 loads of girder assemblies from Winnipeg, MB to a highway overpass in Fort McMurray, AB. Each girder assembly was over 120’ long and weighed in excess of 100,000 each unit.

The loads were moved using auto-turn trailers, and required flag cars for the entire route due to the overall length of 160’. Given the size and weight of these loads, logistical considerations were paramount. The job was successfully completed, and we are excited to share this story with you.
